Comparing Legislative District Democratic Websites

This analysis of Democratic legislative district websites is intended to facilitate examining and comparing website features to find features which might be adopted.

12 Features

Upon examination of each website for each of the 12 features listed below, an ‘X’ was put in the columns in which these features were present.  But much variation may occur.  For example, a website may have a brief mention of PCOs or describe the role, how to become one and list the PCOs.  There are asterisks by some websites which seem to offer excellent coverage of many features..

If you are interested in a feature, simply click on the legislative districts or counties which have an ‘X’ in the appropriate column.  You can quickly review them and make notes concerning the websites and their contents which you want for your website.

Counties Democratic Organizations    County Government Websites    County Profiles

The following list of all our 39 counties contains links to those Democratic county websites for those counties which have one:

Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Clallam, Clark, Columbia, Cowlitz, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, King County, Kitsap, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lewis, Lincoln, Mason, Okanogan, Pacific, Pend Oreille, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Skamania, Snohomish, Spokane, Stevens, Thurston, Wahkiakum, Walla Walla, Whatcom, Whitman, Yakima.   The link to Benton County seems inoperable.

Other Analyses and Improvements Needed

No analysis is made here of the appearance and ease of use of the websites.  This might be done by someone more competent than I am.  Would anyone like to do it?  A similar report might be made to facilitate comparing newsletters.  Would anyone like to do it?

Your comments for improving this report are welcome.  For example, some of the ‘X’s could be colored red to indicate superior coverage.  After improvements have been made, this report will be posted in the resources column of our website.

I also recommend that our Democratic organization appoint a group to create a guide for creating these websites, which could include one or more prototypes which demonstrate best features.
